As the First Spirit her movements resemble that of a music box ballerina, they should be delicate yet stiff and as Fan become fluid. She is full of life, joy and sincerity, and is responsible for showing Scrooge that his life was not always without Christmas spirit, and where his life began to make that turn. He is a dedicated and humble worker, a loving father and husband, and a kind man overall.įirst Spirit/Fan (ballerina) –The first spirit to visit Scrooge and his younger sister. In spite of the cruel treatment he endures at work, Bob does his job without complaint. Fred is kind-hearted, and embodies the Christmas spirit acting in virtues associated with that time of year namely goodwill, and generosity towards others.īob Cratchit -An underpaid clerk working for Scrooge. Who is kind, generous and embodies the Christmas Spirit.įred –Scrooge’s nephew and the only son of Scrooge’s beloved late sister Fan. After seeing the error of his ways, Scrooge becomes a changed man. These visions force Scrooge to confront his own mortality and the consequences of his selfishness. The change is brought on from the lessons he learns through visions brought on by the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. He hates Christmas which he only associates with reckless spending. Throughout the course of the show he undergoes a profound transformation from a cold-hearted miser to a generous and compassionate benefactor. Scrooge – A cold hearted man known throughout his town for his lack of compassion and stinginess. Marley hopes to save his old partner and as he learned too late more importantly, friend, from suffering the same fate. He appears to Scrooge as a ghost condemned to wander the world bound in heavy chains. Marley- During his life, Marley was Ebenezer Scrooge’s equally greedy business partner.
